ExpressVPN usually either tops our list of the best VPNs or finishes in the runner-up position. Despite that fact, some people have complaints and want to cancel their subscriptions. While a bit confusing, we understand their decision. It’s typically price-related, hence why customers rather opt for cheaper options such as CyberGhost VPN. Luckily, so does ExpressVPN, which is why they offer a 30-day money-back guarantee and a free trial on mobile devices, no questions asked. With that said, let’s demonstrate how to cancel ExpressVPN.
Reasons to cancel ExpressVPN
No matter how much better ExpressVPN is, there are always reasons that can lead to its cancellation. Such reasons are mentioned below:
Too pricey
Pricing has always been a factor when we purchase something, especially software. And today, when the VPN industry is booming, there are a lot of decent ExpressVPN alternatives available on the market that offer almost the same features but at a cheaper price. Thus, it being expensive, can be a factor when canceling ExpressVPN.
Doesn’t work as intended
People might have different aspirations regarding VPNs. Although we won’t get into what a VPN can do and what is intended out of it, many feel disappointed with the service. Hence, one contributing factor that led to cancellation is that the VPN didn’t live up to expectations.
Trying a different vendor
There are also times when a user wants to experience a different product. Other VPNs might be offering a sale or have a feature that the user wants to check out. The point is that the user can cancel ExpressVPN in favor of another provider.
VPN use has been banned
VPNs are becoming mainstream. As such, more and more people are becoming aware of what a VPN is and what it does, which includes countries. Furthermore, the geopolitics of a region is ever-changing, so many countries that have allowed VPN use have started banning them. If you are residing in a region that has recently banned VPN use, then you might want to cancel your ExpressVPN subscription.

Bought ExpressVPN via the Apple App Store? Know this
Due to Apple policies, if you bought an ExpressVPN subscription for iOS or Mac from the App Store, you can cancel it using the steps above. However, you must request a money refund from Apple, not ExpressVPN.
Used PayPal’s IPN, Paymentwall, or BitPay to pay?
You also need to sign in to the PayPal account and cancel IPN on top of the steps above. For BitPay and Paymentwall, your subscription automatically ends on the scheduled date, e.g. there’s no money refund.
